Centre Avenue School staff and students have been hard at work spreading some holiday cheer.
During the month of November, students brought in various nonperishable items to donate to local families and food pantries for Thanksgiving. Social worker Dawn McCabe and Student Council advisers Danielle Schaetzle and Ashley Tener had students organize the food baskets. New York State Assemblyman Brian Curran’s office donated frozen turkeys. The staff raised money to help purchase gift cards to supermarkets. All the collaborative efforts resulted in many families being able to enjoy Thanksgiving with their loved ones.
